Last night the Spectrum was loud and ready for another Aggie basketball game. I know Haylie and I couldn't wait until Saturday night for the game, a whole week with out a game is kinda hard to handle when you are an basketball fan.
The Aggies were ready and came out with fire. It was a fun game, but towards the end of the first half I was a little scared for the Ags. It was kinda sketching there for a few minutes, then Jared Quyale hit a 3 at the end of the 1st half and the Aggies never looked back.
Nate Bendall had an outstanding night with 20 points and 10 rebounds! He never gave up on the ball and was fantastic.
Brady Jardine. All that I am going to say is WOW! He can play basketball, or rather he can dunk the ball. I think every time he gets the ball it is a dunk. Oh well, it is a blast to watch! I love it!
Pooh Williams came out ready to score, and as always defend. He had 14 points and was red hot from the 3 point land. He had a difficult task of guarding an amazing wing player, who has been averaged the last 3 games of 30 points. He scored 19 points on 5-16 shooting (a lot coming from the foul line). I would say that is pretty impressive of Pooh to guard someone like that.
I was also impressed by the was Tai Wesley played unselfish basketball. His shots weren't falling but he kept playing and passed the ball very well.
The Aggies had a great game and are now home for 2 more games!

USU at Fresno and Idaho
Holy Cow, talk about slaking off...I am finally getting around to writing about the game and I don't even remember what the games were like.
But I do remember this:
GO AGGIES!
Home to San Jose State Saturday night!
But I do remember this:
- Brady Jardine has played amazing these past few games.
- Brian Green is a stud as usual.
- Jared Quyale rocks.
- Stew Morrill now has 500 wins in his career!

USU vs Boise State
A good game. That about sums up my thoughts and feelings towards the game last night. The only problem was that there was just to many whistles blown. It felt really slow and no rhythm at all. The Aggies could hardly get anything going on both sides of the ball. Every time they tried something there was a foul called, it was pretty lame. Other than that, it was a great game of basketball by the Aggies. I was very impressed by Brian Green, what a performance on the offensive side of the ball! That was amazing.
The crowed was great as usual and they made sure Thomas #11 was well aware of the fact that they don't like him. It was great as it always is!

USU vs Hawaii and USU vs Nevada
Aggies opened up WAC play at home with a dominating win over Hawaii 98-54. Those 98 points were the most I think I have ever seen scored in the spectrum by the Aggies. It was something else. People around me were hoping that the Aggies would get up by 50, then towards the end they were hoping that we would score 100. Neither happened but it was a fun win. Some games when the Ags are up by so many can be really boring and not fun, but not this one. It was fantastic, loud and a lot of fun. I am very happy with the performance of the Aggies.
Wednesday brought a really tough test versus the Nevada Wolf pack. I knew going into this game it was going to be tough. The Aggies really haven't proved themselves on the road this season. That all changed when the Aggies came into the game and fought long and hard for a Over Time victory against UNR. The Aggies in this game came from a 10 point deficit, and won the game by 7 in over time. When the Aggies went down by 10 I was so close to turning off the radio and going to bed. But then I decided to stick it out. I am guessing nothing happened of note during the 5 minutes that I forgot to open my eyes up after blinking, or else I would have heard Al Lewis screaming on the radio. I did however wake up when the Aggies were in the middle of their 11-0 run they made in the final minutes of regulation. Al was getting very excited and was pretty crazy. The next thing I knew was that the Aggies were up by one with 2 minutes left. I then shot up from my bed and sat there waiting and wishing for the win. I sat on my bed and listened to the Aggies hang on and then go into overtime. It was so scary and intense. But they cam out in overtime and didn't let up on the intensity.
The Aggies play at home against Boise State(0-5 WAC record). Lets go Aggies!

USU vs NMSU
WOW, what a game! I thought for sure that the Aggies were going to be able to pull it off. I had for the last 5 minutes of the game a glimmer of hope. Probably the only one in all of Aggie nation who believed they could pull it off. I have read a lot of posts on forums and blogs about the game and it makes me sick to read them. I am so frustrated with Aggie basketball fans, they will support their team if they are perfect and never loose. I mean look at last year 30-5 record, you can't do that every year. It pains me to see that people who you thought would be an Aggie through and through, but then throw in the towel when they loose a game. In reality every game the Aggies have lost it has only been by 3 or less points, excluding the Long Beach State embarrassment. The Aggies are a very talented team. Last night on the pre-game show with Al Lewis, he was talking about the stats for each team in the WAC. The Aggies as a team are first in many of the statistical categories, but not one individual player on the Aggie roster is first in a statistic category. To me that shows this is a Basketball Team not an organization with All- Stars.
All right enough with that! That was a little much. So the game last night was sad, painful, depressing but I have have decided to look at the positives from this game. The Aggies from up north held the Aggies from down south for the last 5 minutes of the game. They played amazing defense and got stops because of it. Which in turn resulted in getting with in one point in the end. The Aggies were down 11 just a few minutes before that. They didn't give up, they fought through and made it a game. The only thing they lacked in the end was the intensity to finish the game and not just loose by 2 or three. They have had the chance so many times this year to win close games but just haven't had quite enough to make it.
The Aggies lost. Take it as it is or choose to be a fan of an other school. Yes, fans like to cheer for winning teams, but we are Aggie Fans, we are different.
