USU vs Uof U

The Aggies are awesome! You probably already new that but, I think they rock.

The Aggies played what could be the last game against the Utes in the Spectrum for a really long time.

The Utes were 3-0 but they sure did not look like that. They were not a very good basketball team.

The Aggies came out and played tough the whole game. Brady Jardine had a stellar game. He scored a career best 20 points and 16 rebounds. He did not even miss a shot in the first half and only missed 2 free throws the entire game! Another plus to his great game is that he didn't get into foul trouble! That was key to the success the Aggies had in the game.

Everyone did an outstanding job the whole game! A very surprising stat was Tai Wesley's TWO 3-pointers! Yes, I did say TWO! That was something else!

Nate Bendall did see playing time in the game, which was very positive. He only played 3 minutes but it is a step in the right direction with his foot problems.

Final Score: 79-62
Record: 3-1

USU at SUU

I was anxious to see how the Aggies would respond to the close loss at BYU. I am happy that they won, but the game felt slow.

After 3 games the thing that has hurt us the most is Fouling and Foul-shooting. At least one player in each game has fouled out. That is a problem to me. I think the reason could be is that it is early in the season and the refs are as anxious as the players. They want to blow their whistles.

The Aggies in this game after shooting 57% from the charity stripe at BYU came and hit a few more and hit 68%. We are getting closer to where an Aggie team is usually is. Which is very good. We are improving.

The team is looking good and I am confident that the aggies will be a great team this year once they figure out some things.

One thing that has stood out to me is there defense. They have done very well at keeping the other teams shooting percentage down. I like that a lot and so does Coach Morrill.

Final Score: 66-53
Record: 2-1

USU at BYU

Well the game came and went. I was very impressed with the way the boys played Wednesday night in the Marriott Center. The game was kinda sketchy at times and I wondered if the refs were watching the same game as me. But I can't place blame on anyone.

The Aggies couldn't hit a free-throw. That was the story of the game. If we could have made HALF of our free-throws it would have been a different game.

We also could have used the help of Tai. He was mostly on the bench in the game which is a huge downer for our team.

Brian Green is on fire. He is GOOD!

Pane is kinda in a slump right now, I hope he fixes that SOON!

We need Nate Bendall BAD! We found ourselves in foul trouble and I was wishing that he was healthy. It will be interesting to see how we respond.

I am impressed over all by the team. I only wish we could have played BYU a little later in the season, if so it could have been a different game.

Score:78-72
Record: 1-1

USU vs Weber

So the Ags had their first regular season game on November 13. They played host to Weber. It was a pretty scary game in the first half. We never had the lead and we looked flustered the whole 1st half.

I was pretty nervous on these two accounts:
1) Tai and Brady had 2 really quick fouls. I wasn't to happy. I also wasn't to happy that Brady had to foul out. His 5th foul came on a made dunk by Weber. I was questioning why he even tried to block or something on that shot. I hope he fixes his ways.
2) Poor 3 point shooting. We need to make 3's consistently. I think it will be fixed.

I was very excited with the performance of Brokieth Pane. He did an outstanding job in going to the hole. Tyler Newbold was also very aggressive on the defensive end guarding Damion Lillard, Weber's PG. He shut him down in the second half which we needed.

The Aggies win 77-65. Record: 1-0 Up Next: YBU (in Provo)

Exhibition Games

This was defiantly not the way I would have like to start the season....I didn't even blog about the first two games! I guess because the games were so ridiculously boring there wasn't much to write about.

My over all feeling is that we played pretty good. I thought everything went smoothly for the most part, just a few mistakes. That is expected when we have a new point guard. Who I must say is somethin' else! Wow! He is a play-maker. I am excited to see him develop with the team. As expected Tai Wesley was outstanding. Along with all the seniors.

It was just amAzing to be back in the spectrum again! I feel another great season of Aggie Basketball coming!

GO AGGIES!
