GAME 1: USU vs BYU

What a way to start the season?! This is probably the most exciting season opener in all of college basketball. To be honest I didn't know if we were going to get a win. Games like this have so much on the line that anything could happen.

I had so much fun being apart of the Spectrum during a game like that. I didn't get to sit in the Student Section this game because students started camping out 3 days before the game. Heather, didn't really want to do that so she decided to sit this game out. I got to sit next to this awesome family that put up with me so well. I am sure they have never seen a fan like me before. It was great and they loved my passion so that made me feel good. Aggie fans are so great!

I didn't know what to expect with this team and how they would react to such a loud crowd for the first game. I was very impressed with how the handled the noise level. The game was back and forth the entire first half. I was impressed with the toughness of the team when things weren't going so well. Brockieth got two early fouls that could have turned into a nightmare for the Aggies early on in the first half. Luckily the team toughness showed and they kept up the pace of the game. I am very excited to see what this team will do this year. I saw many great things but one that got me the most excited was our tough defense. These Aggies get it. They knew what defense was. When baskets weren't falling they buckled down and defened very very well. Brockieth especially came with the mentality to steal every ball. He took advantage of the Cougar's point guard all night. That kid didn't know what happened.

The crowd was great, the teams on the court were ready to play, and the Spectrum was rockin. That is why I love Aggie basketball. I can't wait to watch as this team writes there own Aggie history this season!

SCORE: 69-62
UP NEXT: @Weber State, Tuesday November 15
RECORD: 1-0

  1. It was awesome to watch on TV - I can only imagine what it was like inside. A few times the crowd got so loud we couldn't hear the announcers anymore because the noise cancellation just canceled them out, too. Awesome. :)
