It is always hard to watch away games and get a feel for how the game flowed. I was able to watch only a portion of the game on Saturday and Today's game I mostly listened(The video feed and the sound never match up and it was kinda annoying). It was nice though to get the wins on the road at UT-San Antonio and Texas State.
After this weekend I learned:
- These two teams have small arenas. I am pretty sure I played High School ball in a gym that size...
- Spencer Butterfield is a hard nosed gritty player. Really starting to get a fell for this system.
- Two words. PRESTON. MEDLIN.
- Kyisean Reed, is smart.
- Slowly but surely the Aggies are coming together as a team.
- I REALLY REALLY want to witness the Coach Morrill "sweep" dance.
- Starting WAC 2-0 on the road is a beautiful thing for this team.
A call to Aggie Students:
The Aggies come home for games on Thursday and Saturday. It always sucks having games during the break because the students are gone, but sadly this year it probably be the same size of crowd. I am pretty disappointed with the lack of love from the students towards Aggie basketball. No longer can you use the "Football is doing so well, we can't love both teams" excuse! Football is over. It is time to devout our full undivided attention to our boys of the hardwood! I know there won't be super amazing teams coming to the Spectrum, but who cares! This is the Spectrum, the happiest place on earth! You answered the call when the football team needed you, now come when Stew needs you. So in an effort to remind you of how great the Spectrum can be. These are clips of times past in the Spectrum:First Up: Probably the funniest moment in Wild Bill History:
Second: Winning Team/Loosing Team (Take a look at how full that student section is!)
Third: "I Believe"
Added Bonus:
This one I am added for two reasons: 1) because of how big the game was. Nevada was #9 in the country and playing in OUR house.2) I still get nervous for the out come of the game especially during Chaz Spicer's free throws. That was an epic, epic win. Enjoy. (Plus the music adds to the drama)
***End of Post, but if you would like to indulge on one more fantastic Aggie video that gets your heart pumping and tears falling continue scrolling. ***
Just because I love watching old highlight videos on YouTube, this one brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face:
As you can probably tell, I LOVE AGGIE BASKETBALL!
What? You love aggie basketball? No way! ;) But I watched every video and smiled. Good times in the spectrum, for sure. :) I thought about you when I heard them talking about the sweep dance yesterday after the game. First I had ever heard of it. And I thought, "I wonder what Kylie thinks of all this." I thought it was funny when Stew said, "I don't allow camera phones or anything in the locker room". Ha!
ReplyDeleteOh Kylie. I didn't even have to read your post and I went to the game last night and will go again tomorrow. :) Also, don't fret. The fans will come.
